Casting News: Mathieu Amalric to play…

Straight from the Cosmopolis’ official Facebook page, we’re getting the announcement that Mathieu Amalric will play Andre Petrescu aka The Pastry Assassin! YES! I knew it… Fantastic news.

What say you to this news? Surprised? Pleased? I like this casting and I hope the role is beefed up so we can see more of Mathieu!

*drums fingers on desk* No, we’re not impatient for casting news for Jane or Elise or Michael….

Filming is set to begin May 24 in Toronto.

    “I glop you good.” This was a great part in the book and one that I’m really looking forward to in the movie. Rob + pie = hungry chauffeurs ;)

    Absolutely spot on casting. Mathieu is exactly what I pictured while reading.

    i LOVE that the supporting cast is brilliant because the characters in the story are so significant…the actors have to be dynamic.

    Another great pick. Mathieu will make their confrontation into a real war of two worlds!

    Can we try dream casting a really tough one? Torval. So very different from everyone else in the story, this muscle bound guy who doesn’t fit the pattern and “whose presence was a provocation.” Burly, thickset, ironic, disdainful, thickset, shaved head, abiding anger…. I’m embarrassed to say this, but physically, I’m seeing a jacked up Bruce Willis!
